Capitanich defends Aerolíneas: ‘Recalde has done an outstanding job’
Jorge Capitanich praised the performance of Argentina's flag carrier, saying its CEO Mariano Recalde “has done an outstanding job.” Asked about a report by the National Audit Office that dennounces irregularities and lack of management control in the state-run company, he said it was a “deliberate political strategy by opposition leaders.”
“Mariano Recalde, as Aerolíneas Argentinas CEO, has done an outstanding job, improving service quality and garanteeing connectivity in Argentina,” asserted Capitanich in his daily press briefing at Government House.
Thus, he rejected a report by the National Audit Office that dennounces irregularities in the airline management as “a deliberate political strategy by opposition leaders to criticize the government”.
“The Argentine people, those who use Aerolíneas’ excelent service, praise its quality,” Capitanich said.
Asked about recent criticism from former Economy Minister Roberto Lavagna and Banco Ciudad President Aldo Pignanelli that warned about errors in government economic policies, the Cabinet Chief said “no economist is independent in Argentina”. “They pass judgement to create pressure,” he stated, and said they “answer to economic groups”.
