US dollar steady at 8.075 pesos, 'blue' falls to 11.80
The US dollar traded steady today at 8.075 pesos in BA City banks and exchange offices while the blue chip swap rate and the MEP dollar traded lower at 10.77 and 11.30 pesos respectively, with investors paying more attention to foreign bonds.
But all eyes were laid on the black market dollar today, as the so called “blue dollar” fell 10 cents and traded at 11.80 pesos after it skyrocketed 35 cents yesterday.
As of today, the “blue dollar” accumulates a 75 cent increase during the week, 40 cents higher than the increase registered last week.
Exchange offices reported today that yesterday’s price was an exaggeration, caused by the steady demand of a few investors that purchased a higher amount than normal, and predicted a slight decrease in the price.
