Europe elections: Spain citizens in Argentina can vote up to May 24
Spanish citizesn living in Argentina will have time to vote for their European candidates till May 24, Spain’s Electoral Board has decided following delays in the arrival of ballots.
Spaniards will be able to choose their political representatives by mail until one day before the elections to take place on May 25. Still, they will also have the possibility to cast their vote in a ballot box that has been set at the Buenos Aires Consulate, located at 1770 Guido Street, from 9 am to 20 pm. The ballot box will be at the diplomatic office starting today until Friday.
However, the president of the Popular Party (PP) in Argentina José Manuel Rodríguez expressed his concern about the decision, suggesting Spaniards to mail their vote today so that “it gets before Saturday with certainty,” considering that a delay would invalidate the voting.
Around 11,000 Spain-born residents have requested party ballots to mail their vote. Overall, 430,000 are entitled to vote on Sunday in Argentina.
