Carrio will 'almost certainly' run in presidential primaries
National lawmaker Elisa Carrio has declaredthat she will “almost certainly” present her candidacy in the Broad Front Unen primary elections to run for next year’s presidential elections.
Regarding the possibility of a political alliance with BA city mayor Mauricio Macri, Carrio said: “In order to save the nation from the 'narco-state' there has to be a grand alliance. But this does not mean impunity for anyone. UNEN’s first point of agreement is the Constitution and the imprescriptibility of corruption crimes. The [Justicialist Party] PJ ensures mob rule and impunity”
“I have cried after having to make alliances with people who betrayed me, but it is my duty to save Argentina,” the politician said on historic TV show “Almorzando con Mirtha Legrand”
Carrió addressed criticism against her and said: “Maybe I am too sane. In other countries I am very respected, I am almost a hero. I am not crazy”. She also criticised Victory Front Senator Aníbal Fernández and accused him of being a “drug dealer”.
“I have been called crazy but I am not,” she stressed.
“I report crimes so I do not become an accomplice. The people who voted for me are not accomplices, because they voted me for that. They are millions of Argentineans who are not thieves or corrupt”.
