“Salman’s arguments contradict the jurisprudence", CELS assured in today''s press release. (TÉLAM)
The Centre for Legal and Social Studies (CELS), warned today from “serious irregularities” in the investigation of Army Chief César Milani, suspected of alleged crimes against humanity during the last dictatorship.

After La Rioja’s attorney, Michel Horacio Salman ordered the closure of the cause, CELS human rights organization affirmed through a press release that: “the fiscal has disposed illegally, the interruption of the case.”

“Just three months after being on duty, (the attorney) asked Judge Daniel Herrera Piedrabuena to close the investigation,” while adding that “Salman’s arguments contradict the jurisprudence, regarding the prosecution of crimes against humanity, established in the trial against the Junta in 1985”.

The case investigated a supposed participation of Milani with the illegal imprisonment of two citizens from that region, named Pedro and Ramón Olivera.

In addition, the head of the army was prosecuted for the enforce disappearance of Alberto Ledo, a soldier from La Rioja who disappeared on June 17, 1976 in Tucumán province.
