CFK receives church authorities in Olivos

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner held today a meeting with key clerical representatives in Olivos, following terse exchanges between the two sides as a result of an Episcopal document which affirmed the nation was "sick with violence".

Sources revealed the encounter lasted one hour, and was defined as “very cordial.”

The head of state was accompanied by Cult Secretary, Guillermo Oliveri, while José María Acrancedo, titular of the Argentine Episcopal Confederacy was seconded by its General Secretary, Enrique Eguía.

“It was a very relaxed talk, in good and cordial terms. We spoke about the document, but it was a very constructive dialogue,” consulted sources affirmed.

Fernández de Kirchner had contradicted the missive on Saturday, as she led a ceremony in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the murder of “slum priest” Carlos Mugíca.

“We do not have a violent society like in other times,” she said.
