Lawmakers present project to extend Subte A to La Boca
Buenos Aires City lawmakers have presented a project to build 6 new subway stations and extend the Subte A, which currently goes from San Pedrito to Plaza de Mayo, up to La Boca.
The project was presented by Gustavo Vera and Pablo Bergel (UNEN), Paula Oliveto (CC), Jorge Quinto (FPV), Pablo Ferreyra (Popular Left) and Virginia González (PSA) arguing that the City’s southeast has no subway and is “disconnected from the rest of the neighborhoods.”
“The extension will improve City connectivity. Also, the subway is the most eco-friendly way of public transport, can carry more passengers and is economically sustainable,” the presentation states.
The stations would be located as follows:
-"Azucena Villaflor": Paseo Colón Avenue between Belgrano Avenue and Venezuela Avenue
-“Facultad de Ingeniería”: Paseo Colón Avenue between Carlos Calvo and Estados Unidos
-"Parque Lezama": Paseo Colón Avenue between Juan de Garay Avenue and Brasil Avenue
-“Hospital Argerich”: Almirante Guillermo Brown Avenue between Tomás Espora and Gualeguay
-“La Boca”: Almirante Guillermo Brown Avenue between Pinzón and Aristóbulo del Valle
-“Riachuelo”: Almirante Guillermo Brown Avenue between Olavarría and Araoz de Lamadrid
