Foreign tourism increases 3.8% in March
The National Statistics and Census Institute (INDEC) has revealed today that foreign tourism increased 3.8 percent in March compared to the same month in 2013, reversing the declines registered in February (2.4%) and January (1.9%).
According to the state agency, 206,448 tourists arrived in the country during March, mainly from Brazil (38.3%) and Chile (8.6%). They stayed for an average of 15 days and spent almost 247 million dollars.
Meanwhile, 222,917 Argentine tourists travelled abroad during March, and spent almost 300 million dollars.
