Price rises in gas, trains, flights and cigarettes
May begins with bad news for consumers: tariff increases for trains and domestic flights tickets and rises on cigarettes and gas prices ranging from 4% to 100% in the case of train tariffs.
Starting today, tickets for San Martín trains, from Retiro to Pilar, cost a 100% more. SUBE minimum fare is now 2 pesos and 6 pesos for passengers without SUBE.
Gas prices also went up to a 3,8%, on its fifth annual raise. YPF Premium gasoline is now 12,39 pesos while YPF Súper is 11.
Meanwhile, domestic flights’ tariffs increased by 12%, under a resolution by the Transport Secretary, representing the first adjustment in tickets’ fares since December 2013.
Cigarettes prices for brands distributed by Massalin Particulares increased by 20-25%.
A pack of Marlboro is now 15 pesos (25% raise) and Philip Morris are 14 pesos a pack (21,7% increase).
New price rises are expected for cigarette brands distributed by Nobleza Piccardo.
