Arsenal advance to Libertadores last-eight

Martín Palermo's Arsenal de Sarandí side made history this evening in beating Unión Española 1-0 in Chile, qualifying for the first time ever to the last-eight of the Copa Libertadores with an aggregate victory of the same margin.

Having held the Santiago team to a 0-0 draw in the first leg, Arsenal took the advantage 20 minutes into the second half, when Diego Braghieri converted the only goal of the 180-minute tie.

The Arse move on to face Nacional of Paraguay, who qualified on Tuesday thanks to a 2-2 draw away to Vélez Sarsfield. That result, coupled with a 1-0 win in Asunción, put 'La Academia' through 3-2 on aggregate.
