Pablo Moyano threatens Quilmes' Gutiérrez: ‘A worker already killed a mayor once’
Secretary of the Teamsters Union Pablo Moyano redoubled today his threat to Quilmes mayor Francisco "Barba" Gutiérrez during a radio program, saying a worker has “already killed a mayor once”.
The son of union leader Hugo Moyano recalled the death of Lobería Mayor Hugo Rodríguez, murdered by a former employee, amid the possible municipalization of the trash collection service in Quilmes, which currently belongs to a firm named Covelia.
Truck drivers that now earn between $9,000 and $17,000 would be re-enrolled as municipal workers and earn $7,000.
“If there is to be two or three dead in Quilmes, there will be”, Moyano said yesterday to the press when asked about the conflict.
Today Moyano insisted on his sayings and affirmed that “workers are ready to fight to the death for their jobs.”
The secretary of the Teamsters Union also announced a national teamsters strike for next Monday, when Covelia’s contract with Quilmes expires.
