CFK asks workers to 'support the industrial development model'
In the wake of Labour Day, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner asked Argentinean workers “to behave in a way that helps to sustain the industrial development model”.
The President attended the inauguration of an iconic SIAM refrigerator plant in Avellaneda, in the south of Great Buenos Aires, that was shut down in the 90s and is now re-opened after a 35 million-dollar investment by Newsan Group.
“When workers are doing fine they should behave in a way that sustains the present. Because sometimes, even with fair claims, they create unintended consequences,” the President said.
"This plant was not deteriorated", Cristina said quoting previous statement by Siam majority partner Rubén Cherñajovsky. "The plant was in ruins, just like Argentina was in ruins in 2003. And today we're re-opening it"
The event was originally scheduled for last October but then postponed when the President was forced to call off all official activities after she was diagnosed with a brain subdural hematoma and underwent surgery.
Before the inauguration, the President spoke via videoconference with La Rioja governor Luis Beder Herrera, and La Matanza, for the inauguration of Serva elevators factory, and with Morteros, in Córdoba province, for the inauguration of a powdered milk plant Lactear.
