Cristina calls to maintain 'powerful' domestic market

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner today signed a series of strategic pacts with business leaders in distinct commercial areas, as she praised the effect her government has had on the nation's internal markets which, CFK, stated, should be the focus of efforts.

"Profit-making potential should be located inside a logic which allows Argentina to maintain a powerful internal market," the head of state affirmed from Government House.

"There are some sectors that have grown exponentially during this era in Argentina."

The accords signed today with business leaders aim to increase production, registered employment and exports for the 2014-15 period.

12 agreements out of a total of 36 planned were officialised, covering sectors such as Capital Goods, Poultry, Wood and Furniture, White Goods, Software and Tourism.

The president also asserted that Argentina would achieve self-sufficiency in energy production by 2019, underlining that "the next government is going to receive a much better nation, and within that inheritance will be self-sufficiency."

"There is a great responsibility on the part of all sectors, in a different Argentina and world, among those for the unions," Cristina added, in reference to the recent general strike ordered by dissident unionists Hugo Moyano and Luis Barrionuevo.

"The workers must confront the principal issue for a worker, keeping jobs, the second issue is working in precarious conditions."
