Capitanich: ‘The purge of security forces is key to public order’

In his daily press briefing, Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich highlighted the importance of implementing mechanisms to “purge security forces” to ensure public order.

Asked about the ongoing 17-day state of security emergency declared by governor Daniel Scioli in Buenos Aires province, Capitanich stated: “The purge of security forces is key to ensure public order.”

Reffering to Scioli’s decision to ask for the resignation of several Buenos Aires police chiefs –something he defined as “operational changes”-, Capitanich said: “This is going in the right direction.”

“It’s very important that those in charge of the security of every citizen and who carry guns have an ethic pristine and transparent conduct,” he added.
