Wilde cop station in trusteeship
A 42-year-old man was shot dead on Monday night by three alleged thieves who had broken into his home in the southern Greater Buenos Aires district of Wilde, where the local police station was placed under trusteeship and is being investigated over allegations they failed to assist the members of the family who had allegedly been tied up and threatened in the house for around two hours.
The intervention at the police station by provincial authorities was ordered by Buenos Aires province Governor Daniel Scioli’s Security Minister, Alberto Granados.
The victim, identified as Javier Gallardo, was shot dead after returning from university to his home at 5500 Bolívar street in Wilde by one of three young men who had broken into the home moments before 9pm, as Gallardo’s housemate, Gabriel Cantavenera, returned from buying a soft drink.
