CFK: I want to leave next president a better country
"What I want to leave the next president is a nation which is much better than that which we received; they will receive a totally different country, I have no doubt about that," CFK affirmed during an act held in Government House.
Cristina pointed out during her address that there were "sectors who have benefited" from her administration, who nevertheless "whenever they have been able to throw a spanner into the works they have done so."
The president, who won two consecutive terms in 2007 and 2011, is prohibited by constitutional restrictions from seeking a third presidential period in the next elections, in 2015.
CFK also announced a new project to be sent to Congress for discussion, in which taxes on biodiesel would be lifted for as long as restrictions on the fuel being imported from Argentina remained on European Union statutes.
"We are in a real trade war and our duty is to protect those who are facing difficulties," the head of state signalled.
The measure would temporarily exempt the fuel from taxes of 22 percent for use in electrical generation and 19 percent for liquid fuel use, while Argentina pursues a complaint against Spain in the World Trade Organisation for blocking the import of biodiesel.
