Chinese-owned supermarkets to join the Price Watch programme within ten days

Within ten days, Chinese-owned supermarkets will join the Price Watch programme, according to Yolanda Durán,head of Cedeapsa, one of the chambers that gathers these supermarkets.

The programme includes 122 goods, from food and beverages to cleaning supplies and toiletries.

"Wholesalers are our main suppliers. They provide our businesses in Buenos Aires and Greater Buenos Aires. In January we started with a smaller list of Price Watch and now we are expanding it to 122 products," Durán said, and explained that seven wholesale distributors joined the programme.

The products of the Price Watch list with the highest demand are noodles, rice, yerba mate, flavored water, salt, fernet, cleaning and toiletrie products, according to Durán.

Durán said that the agreement with wholesaler distributors not only affects Chinese-owned supermarkets but also local grocery stores and convenience stores.
