The biggest election ever
Indian voters wait to enter a polling station to cast votes in Ujina, in the Indian state of Haryana, yesterday. Indians voted in the crucial third phase of their national elections yesterday, with millions going to the polls in the heartland states that are essential to the main opposition Hindu nationalist party's bid to end the 10-year domination of the ruling Congress party. Indians started voting on Monday in the world’s biggest election ever, with 815 million people registered to vote. The election is spread out over five weeks, with the last day of polling on May 12.
