Services affected by nationwide strike
The strike called by opposition unions for tomorrow will mostly affect public transportations and there will also be several groups blocking roads.
The following list shows the main services and how they will be affected by the walkout:
Buses and trains: They won’t be running from Wednesday at midnight.
Subtes: They will all work –although problems with their frequency are to be expected- except line B, from Juan Manuel de Rosas to Leandro N. Alem station.
Taxis: Only the National Federation of Taxi Drivers will join the strike. The largest union, led by Omar Viviani, will not joint it. There will be less taxis on the streets.
Trucks: They are the key piece of Moyano’s protest. Postal services, long distance, heavy load trucks, cash supply, clearing transport, press distribution, garbage collection and other services will go on strike.
Airplanes: There will be no national flights and some international flights will be affected as well, in particular those of LAN and Aerolíneas Argentinas.
Ports: There will be no shippings. Some private companies will work normally, though.
Banking: Will work normally but there will be no clearing and due to the transportation halt, the supply of cash in ATMs might be affected.
Bars and restaurants: The union headed by Luis Barrionuevo will join the strike.
Tollbooths: Workers led by Facundo Moyano will lift barriers in metropolitan highways and the main national and provincial routes (2, 11 and Panamericana)
Education: Municipal teachers will go on strike, so will the Union of Teachers of Buenos Aires, affecting school classes in the province. Private universities will work normally.
Justice: The National Justice Employees Union, led by Julio Piumato, will go on strike, affecting mainly commercial and civil courts.
Health: Public Health providers will join the strike and this service will be sevrely affected.
There will also be road blockings and pickets:
Buenos Aires. Puente Pueyrredón, General Paz and Constituyentes, Plaza Houssay, in Pompeya industrial area, Parque Patricios- Hospital Area.
Great Buenos Aires. In the Northern area, Henry Ford and Panamericana highway; In the Southern area, Fate (Llavallol); in the Western area, Ecotrans (Pirelli) and Castelar train station. Puente La Noria and Route 3 in Isidro Casanova will be the Southern areas blocked.
Unionists will also stage pickets in industrial areas in Zarate locality.
