Lower House plenary session debates YPF-Repsol deal

Economy Minister Axel Kicillof, the Legal and Technical Secretary Carlos Carlos Zannini, and the head of YPF Miguel Galuccio were attending today a plenary session held by the Energy and Budget committees at the Lower House to provide details about the agreement signed between the Argentine government and Spanish Repsol oil company on YPF's expropriation.

Zannini, who opened the exposition, stressed the deal "has no fine print tricks.'

Last month, the Senate passed the YPF-Repsol settlement deal which was reached after long negotiations. The agreement establishes a US$5 billion compensation for the 51 percent of YPF shares the state expropriated in 2012.

The Argentine government had pledged to sign into law the bill passed by the Congress before May 1.
