No Argentines among Chile's quake victims
No Argentineans have been reported dead in Chile where a massive earthquake killed 6 people and forced hundreds to flee thei homes, Argentina’s ambassador to the Andean neighboring country Ginés González García has confirmed.
Facing the emergency, González García still explained that all of Argentina’s consulates have been put “at the disposal of nationals” and informed that President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner ordered to provide assistance to the Chilean authorities.
Chile's leader Michelle Bachelet thanked Ms. Kirchner’s show of support during a press conference she held at the Casa de la Monesda presidential palace in the city of Santiago de Chile.
“I want to thank the call by President of Argentina, Cristina Kirchner, to offer all the help we may need,” Bachelet said.
