BA province authorities assure missed school days 'will be recovered'

The General Director of Culture and Education of the Buenos Aires province Nora De Lucía came on stage today as teachers’ unions ended a 17-day-strike and amid nationwide wage talks which are expected to resume this afternoon.

De Lucía assured “contents and missed school days due to the strike will be recovered” and guaranteed “the 180 days of school classes.” She added “the General Council of Education must decide how classes will be recovered according to decree 2299, which establishes the way to regulate the situation amid the suspension of classes due to strikes or natural catastrophes.”

She added she never felt out of place in the wage negotiation and stated “everyone in the provincial government is working together.”
