Gov't targets media 'deliberate strategy, role' in reporting crime
In his daily message to the press, the head of ministers blasted what he called a “deliberate strategy by concentrated media groups” that “use” people’s crime concerns to “attack” the federal government. Jorge Capitanich assured the security agenda involves “collective responsibility.”
The cabinet chief questioned the Judicial branch for not “acting duly” and called to acknowledge the “role and responsibility” of media in shaping public attitude toward crime.
A strategy to “attack” the Cristina Fernández de Kirchner administration by "concentrated media groups", the minister stated this morning and assured the government “works firmly and strongly” to tackle crime, a problem that must be addressed “comprehensively” by all social, political and judicial “players.”
