Five men face trial in Salta over French tourists’ murder

The murders of Cassandre Bouvier and Houria Moumni in Salta province will be aired out in court in Salta City tomorrow, with an oral and public hearing into allegations that five men participated in the bashing, rape and murder of the French tourists in Quebrada de San Lorenzo, just 20 minutes from Salta City in 2011. Court officials say around 200 witnesses will give testimony during the hearing, which ends on May 16. Jean Michel Bouvier, a litigant in the case and father of one of the victims, will be present at the hearing. He took part in a march on Friday in Salta’ 9 de Julio square, where he called for “transparency.”
