Del Potro to evaluate wrist surgery in the US
Argentine tennis player Juan Martín Del Potro will travel to Minnesota to evaluate the possibility of undergoing wrist surgery, due to the ligament injury that forced him out of the Miami Masters 1000.
Delpo will consult Mayo Clinic specialist Dr. Richard Berger, who operated on the Tandil native in 2010.
Berger already diagnosed Del Potro with a 1st degree sprain in his left wrist. The post-op would last around 8 months, which would leave Delpo out of the ATP World tour until 2015.
Del Potro, who dropped from the 4th position in the ATP ranking to the 8th because of his recurring injuries, underwent a similar surgery in his right wrist which pulled him out of the tour during 2010.
The Tandil Tower’s left wrist problems started in mid 2012, and this year forced him out of ATP Dubai, Indian Wells and Miami Masters 1000.
