Aerolíneas Argentinas seals deal with Gol
State-run Aerolíneas Argentinas has sealed a code-share agreement with Brazilian airline Gol Linhas Aéreas yesterday.
The agreement, unveiled yesterday, will substantially increase the quantity of destinations that each airline offers.
As confirmed by Mariano Recalde, president of Aerolíneas Argentinas, the move will allow passengers to fly to a combined 119 total destinations between the two countries.
As part of the code-share agreement, passengers and members of the frequent flyer programmes for both companies (Gol SMILES and Aerolíneas Plus) are now able to reap the benefits of redeeming miles on both airlines, interchangeably.
Additionally, it comes as no surprise the historic deal came when it did — merely 3 months before the most popular sporting event in the world, the World Cup. The deal will increase the ease of travel between the two neighbouring countries.
