Orquesta Típica Fernández Fierro
Club Atlético Fernández Fierro (Sánchez de Bustamante 764, www.caff.com.ar). Wednesdays, 10pm. Tickets: $80 at the venue.
Born on the streets of San Telmo in 2001, this young tango orchestra mixes a sound that is rooted in the golden age of tango orchestras with the energy and spirit of a punk band. With aggressive sounds, syncopated rhythms, a cabaret-meets-rock aesthetic on stage, the trademark dreadlocks of their bandoneon player, along with the indie ethics embodied in their own venue and the many collaborative projects they kick off from that platform, this is both the anti-tango show and the one tango show you cannot miss.
Line-up: Federico Terranova, Pablo Jivotovschi, Bruno Giuntini and Alex Musatov on violin; Charly Pacini on viola; Alfredo Zuccarelli on cello; Yuri Venturin on double bass; El Ministro, Julio Coviello, Eugenio Soria, Fausto Salinas on bandoneón; Santiago Bottiroli on piano; and Walter “Chino” Laborde on vocals.
