Zannini cries over YPF settlement

Amid the accusations, insinuations and confrontations between Victory Front and opposition senators at yesterday’s meeting were Carlos Zannini’s tears as he spoke about the settlement and expropriation of YPF. He also spoke of former President Néstor Kirchner and of oil workers in Santa Cruz who mobilized in defence of YPF.

Later on in the session he took issue with comments from Senator Fernando “Pino” Solanas that suggested Zannini had been “apologist for the privatization of YPF.” Solanas and Senator Aníbal Fernández squared off as well, with the former encouraging the latter to take care of the Quilmes football club hooligans.

Lastly, Senator Miguel Angel Pichetto urged the senators to be “prudent”, as “in Spain they also read the Argentine papers” in a reference to Repsol’s shareholders.
