Kicillof says exchange market is ‘fairly stabilized’

The economy faces a series of “complexities, difficulties and challenges, but those are not problems,” affirmed Kicillof. (TÉLAM)
Economy Minister Axel Kicillof considered the exchange market “is fairly stabilized,” thanks to the new strategy adopted by the Central Bank, and questioned opposition members and economists for “trying to seed fear,” about an "economic disaster.”

“We are used to these attempts to install a general sensation of fear or economical disaster from opposition newspapers, economists and of course opposition members too,” Kicillof assured in a radio interview.

However, he admitted the economy faces a series of “complexities, difficulties and challenges, but those are not problems,” affirmed Kicillof.

When asked about the inflation rate, he assured Indec’s new methodology has the highest standards worldwide, and defined it as “the best” index, in terms of national coverage.

Private agencies estimated February’s inflation rate at 4-6 percent, but Kicillof dismissed this figure, and sustained that “it is a number which was picked randomly. They are part of campaign,” he concluded.
