Solanas, Cobos to present new centre-left alliance, settle candidacy dispute in PASO
Senator Fernando “Pino” Solanas and lawmaker Julio Cobos confirmed a new centre-left alliance will be presented on April 7 at Buenos Aires City’s Teatro Coliseo. The novel political force will settle it’s candidacies for the 2015 elections in the PASO elections.
“The new alliance will be presented at Teatro Coliseo on April 7 by representatives of the Socialist Party (PS), the Authentic Socialist Party (PSA), GEN (lawmaker Margarita Stolbizer’s party), Libres del Sur, Cordova Civic Front, Civic Coalition and Proyecto Sur”, said Solanas to the press.
The filmmaker hoped this new alliance will “represent a different Argentina, a more federal and democratic Argentina”.
Centre-left political figures such as Hermes Binner (PS), Ernesto Sanz (UCR), Julio Cobos (UCR) and Solanas (Proyecto Sur) have quarreled during the summer over a possible president candidacy.
“We will present our candidacies in the PASO elections and let the people decide”, affirmed Solanas, apparently ending the dispute.
