Riquelme in starting line-up against Olimpo

Boca seeks a second victory

Juan Román Riquelme, who only played 32 minutes in the Final Tournament, will return today to the starting line-up in the match against Olimpo for the 6th round. Boca is one point from bottom place with four points.

Boca Juniors will host Olimpo of Bahía Blanca today at 8.10pm for the 6th round of the Final Tournament with the aim of adding three points in the standings in order to overcome the dull performance the team showed on Saturday, in the loss against Vélez Sarsfield, and in most of the current tournament. Boca midfielder Juan Román Riquelme will make his expected comeback in the starting line-up in today’s match.

Also today, Racing will try to end its negative run against Lanús at 6pm while Vélez will try to ratify its good performance against Boca when it visits Newell’s Old Boys at 10.15pm. In another match today, Estudiantes of La Plata will have a tough test against Belgrano of Córdoba at 6pm.

Boca, only one point from the bottom place of the standings, will field Riquelme but not Agustín Orion and Fernando Gago as both players will play with the national team in today’s friendly against Romania.

Riquelme only played 32 minutes in the second half of the match against Estudiantes this year as he remained benched in the match against Vélez.

Boca’s probable starting line-up is as follows: Emanuel Tripodi; Leandro Marín, Daniel Díaz, Juan Forlín, Emanuel Insúa; Cristian Erbes, Pablo Ledesma, Juan Manuel Sánchez Miño; Luciano Acosta, Juan Román Riquelme and Emmanuel Gigliotti

The 6th round started yesterday with three matches. Colón of Santa Fe drew 1-1 with Godoy Cruz to stay as sole leader of the tournament. However, it could share the lead if Vélez or Estudiantes win today.

César Meli put the host ahead with a left-foot middle-distance kick in the 20th minute. Colón coach Diego Osella was sent off for arguing with the referee Diego Abal when Godoy Cruz’s Leonardo Sigali tied the scoring through a header with six minutes to go.

With this result, Colón remains out of the relegation zone while Godoy Cruz stays into it.

Later, Gimnasia y Esgrima and Atlético de Rafaela also tied 1-1 in La Plata in a dull match. Omar Pouso put the host ahead in the 24th minute while forward Lucas Albertengo equalized a few seconds before half-time.

All Boys faced Argentinos Juniors in the late match.
