Tevez stunner hands Juve Turin Derby triumph

A wonderful strike from former Argentina international Carlos Tévez proved the difference for Serie A leaders Juventus, as they defeated Turin rivals Torino 1-0 to maintain a nine-point lead at the top of the Italian championship.

Tévez, who moved to the Old Lady from Manchester City in 2013, netted the only goal of the game after 30 minutes.

A sharp turn and well-executed volley saw 'Carlitos' open the scoring, bringing the Argentine level with Guiseppe Rossi in the Serie A top scorers' list, with 14 each. Juve held on to their advantage and recorded a narrow victory over their neighbours.

The Turin side are chasing a third consecutive Scudetto, and restored their comfortable lead at the top over nearest rivals Roma, who had briefly cut the difference with a 1-0 win earlier in the weekend schedule.
