Córdoba offers 31 percent salary rise to teacher’s unions
The Cordoba Province Government has proposed a 31.6 percent salary raise to teachers' unions raising the minimum wage to 5.500 pesos a month. The offer will be discussed in a union assembly next week.
José Manuel de la Sota’s administration said the increase would become effective in two parts: first in February (with a 23.2% rise) and then in August (with the remaining 8.4%).
In addition, De la Sota offered a 33 percent rise to grade teachers who start their career this year.
This was the second official offer presented to teachers' representatives. The first one consisted of a 28% rise and was rejected by unionists.
