Argentina denounces 'media manipulation' in Venezuela crisis

Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich shows file photos that allegedly belong to a demonstration in Egypt and Chile and that media in Venezuela published to "manipulate" information.

Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich has ratified Argentina’s “solidarity with the Venezuelan legitimately elected constitutional authorities” and denounced what he called a “manipulation of information” carried out by opposition media in the Caribbean country.

“Argentina, through the Foreign Ministry, has expressed its solidarity with the constitutional authorities legitimately elected by the people of Venezuela but shows also its concern about the press manipulation by media that belong to the opposition,” Capitanich said during his daily conference at the Casa Rosada presidential palace this morning.

In that sense, the head of ministers denounced the ABC news daily had allegedly published photographs of a demonstration that actually took place in Egypt and other pictures that belong to a “movie” based on a true story and others events that took place in “Chile.”
