'Supreme Court ruling violates separation of powers'

Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich today expressed "concern” about the Supreme Court’s ruling which yesterday ordered the government to restore advertising to Clarín Group’s Channel 13.

Capitanich considered the ruling “violates” the separation of powers and that the top court is trying to “legislate.”

The chief of staff rejected a paragraph of the 20-page ruling which said: “Failure to comply with a judicial ruling means a failure to recognize the separation of powers, which leads to a serious deterioration of a constitutional democratic state.” He said: “It’s not true as the government has been complying with it since April, 2013.”
