Capitanich urges not to 'dishonour' Pope Francis' name for media operations
Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich today rejected media rumours which during the weekend affirmed Pope Francis had called a meeting with the Argentine government, union and business leaders in March.
“What La Nación newspaper published increases the problem of the distrust and disrepute many Argentine media suffer,” Capitanich said.
In his daily press conference at the Government House the top official went on to urge not to “manipulate or dishonour” the name of Pope Francis, and asked “not to use his name for a media operation or a particular political interest.”
Yesterday, the Pope dismissed rumours about a “crisis meeting,” journalist Alicia Barrios said.
