ANSES receives 106,000 applications to enter ‘Progresar’ program
The ANSES social security agency has received 106,000 applications to enter ‘Progresar’ program after only one week of its official launching, ANSES head Diego Bossio announced today.
The program, presented last week by President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, consists of a $600 monthly stipend aimed at unemployed young people between 18 and 24 years-old.
The grant will be paid to applicants on the condition that they take classes in order to graduate from primary or secondary school, enrol in a university course or participate in another type of formal education or training.
“We want young people to be able to study and learn”, Bossio said, and added: “The program demonstrates the will of the State to be inclusive”.
