Japanese prince in BA

By Michael Soltys / Senior Editor / Economic Outlook

Prince Akishino, the younger son of Japanese Emperor Akihito, and his wife Princess Kiko will be arriving here from Peru today for a five-day visit whose central occasion is marking the 50th anniversary of an immigration agreement between Japan and Argentina.

The full details of his programme are under wraps for now for security reasons but there will be various contacts with Argentine authorities (including a formal dinner hosted by Vice-President Amadou Boudou) and with the Japanese community here on more than one occasion, as well as other ceremonies, among them the donation of medical assistance and the traditional wreath-laying.
