CFK back at Olivos presidential residency after CELAC summit

President Fernández de Kirchner arrives at the National Hotel in Havana where she attended the II Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner arrived in Buenos Aires City today after attending the summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in Havana, Cuba. The head of state is now at the Olivos presidential residency.

In her CELAC address yesterday, Ms. Kirchner called regional allies to “act as one economic bloc” and thanked their support to Argentina’s sovereignty claims over the Malvinas Islands.

“I want to thank the support in the fight against colonialism that is taking place in the Malvinas Islands and urged once more the United Kingdom to abide by the so many resolutions of the United Nations, the Organization of American States and of every global organization in the world”, Cristina Fernández had said on Tuesday referring to the several resolutions and statements by international organizations that demand London to sit at the negotiating table and discuss the Malvinas bilateral dispute.
