Moyano slams Gov’t economic policy
Head of CGT Workers Central, Hugo Moyano has reacted to the economic measures released on Friday by the Federal Government, and assured that “nobody believes them anything”. In addition, he anticipated further meetings with opposition’s figures for next week.
“Nobody believes in these people”, told Moyano in allusion to President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner's administration, and described the apperances of Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich and Economy Minister Axel Kicillof as “a comedy duo”.
According to the Teamster leader, the Government is “in continual contradiction in its decisions”, and stated that “the inflation hasn’t stopped.”
In that sense, the unionist affirmed that “what was an undercover devaluation has turned into an open devaluation.”
Moyano confirmed for next week a series of meetings with political leaders like Buenos Aires City Mayor, Mauricio Macri, national lawmaker Hermes Binner and the president of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA), Héctor Méndez.
“We want to know what they are thinking about the current situation. It is not a political alliance, nor a meeting to criticise them,” he concluded.
Argentina's official peso rate dipped 0.1 percent to 8.01 per dollar after slumping 11 percent on Thursday, while on Friday, the government announced the removal of the restriction to purchase US dollars.
