CFK arrives in Cuba to attend CELAC summit
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner arrived at La Habana’s José Martí airport this morning to take part in the Celac summit along with her Latin American and Cairbbean couterparts. Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman, Public Communication Secretary Alfredo Scoccimarro, Entre Ríos province Governor Sergio Urribarri and Radical Party leader Leopoldo Moreou are among the politicians joining Ms. Kirchner in Cuba.
The summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) has been scheduled for January 28-29. Cristina Kirchner confirmed she was attending the regional meeting back on Wednesday when she appeared publicly for the first time this year after a 40-day period of low profile.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich said the head of state is expected to hold meetings with regional leaders to discuss the “improvement of trade ties.”
