Piranha attack in Rosario leaves 10 people injured
At least ten people were injured during the past 48 hours, in Rambla Caralunya, Santa Fe province followed another Piranha attack.
According to local sources, the fish known as ‘Palometas’ has returned to the area due the high temperatures registered in last two days. The first wave of the attack happened in the morning, and was followed by at least three more.
One of the victims described in a TV interview that he “was in the water with a friend,” and considered that the fish bit him because he remained “steady,”
A woman, who was accompanied by a friend, expressed her concern over the situation during the last month.
“I am a little bit afraid and I will stay on the sea shore. There is no chance I’ll go deeper”, she assured.
According to Health authorities from that province, the Palometas are attracted by wounds and blood. In December, a similar episode took place and 60 people were injured, including a seven year old girl who lost a finger.
