Scioli says gov't does not deny inflation

BA province governor Daniel Scioli called the private sector for “responsibility” and cooperation following the price agreement recently launched by the Cristina Fernández de Kirchner administration.

“If the government denied inflation, there would not be a price agreement,” Scioli told reporters alluding to the accord reached recently with the country’s top supermarkets and retailers that involve a price freeze over 194 products.

The governor of Argentina’s most populated province also questioned opposition sectors that have been criticizing President Kirchner’s low public profile over the past weeks.

For Scioli, who is in the coastal city of Mar de Plaza supervising government actions for the summer, such sectors seek for “institutional instability” and “apocalyptic scenarios.”
