Written by Brazilian playwright Leilah Assumpção, Intimidad Indecente features only two characters, Mariano (Arnaldo André) and Roberta (Marta González), who divorce at age 50 on amicable terms and continue to get together regularly during four decades. Desire has vanished, but affection is still there and they have mutual respect for each other.
It’s a longevity affair they share, keeping each other company till the ripe age of 95.
Far from melancholy or agonizingly painful, Intimidad indecente is full of tender humour, and the decades roll by smoothly, with the inevitable cornerstones but keeping an attitude. André and González achieve this feat wearing no makeup to show the passing of time — it’s just their acting resources and André’s deft direction.
