CFK leaves medical clinic, mother still hospitalized

Mother of President Kirchner, Ofelia Wilhem.

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner left the medical clinic where her mother has been hospitalized allegedly as a result of a urinary infection-related complication. This is the second time Ofelia Wilhem is admitted to hospital in ten days.

According to information provided by government sources to ámbito.com, President Kirchner arrived at 7 am this morning at the Casa Rosada presidential palace and then left to the Otamendi clinic to visit Ms. Wilhem.

She stayed in the place for nine hours, according to Noticias Argentinas news agency.

84-year-old Ofelia had to be admitted to hospital last week to undergo a gynecological exam but was discharged only a few hours later.

In his daily brief to the press at the government house, Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich was queried about the condition of the president’s mother. The head of ministers said it was Ms. Kirchner who will be in charge of providing such information publicly.
