Man with ties to Fariña arrested
Businessman Juan Suris, a friend of financier Leonardo Fariña, will be transferred today to the Buenos Aires province town of Bahia Blanca as he was arrested with alleged ties to drug trafficking.
He was arrested at his partner’s house, the theatre star Monica Farro, in the Buenos Aires capital neighbourhood of Belgrano the night before, after one month being fugitive.
Suris is also accused of falsifying dollars and trafficking Chinese people.
Bahía Blanca Federal Prosecutor Alejandro Cantaro, who carries forward the cause, informed that Suris partner, Mónica Farro, is also likely to be charged for covering up a crime, because Juan Suris has been a fugitive since last month, “something she knew perfectly well,” said Cantaro.
Suris lawyer, Mariano Bernárdez, said that his client accusation is result of “a media operation,” although it was Cantaro who made it public.
