Malvinas sovereignty row: Ambassador Castro says British public opinion 'changing'

Argentina''s ambassador to the UK Alicia Castro

A recent survey by “The Daily Telegraph” has said that 74 percent of the polled consider the disputed resource-rich archipelago belong to Argentina. “British public opinion is changing,” Argentine ambassador to London affirmed as she ratified the South American country’s commitment with “dialogue.”

In statements to media, Castro accused the coalition government of David Cameron of “delopying” British military forces to the Malvinas Islands with a budget of “70 million pounds” while UK’s health system “is affected by huge cuts.”

“There are some sectors in this country that reject a colonial enclave. We are not surprised by the poll but it will be surely a controversy for many others,” the diplomat added.
