Patronelli abandons Dakar-Rally after dramatic accident
Argentine quad driver Marcos Patronelli abandoned today the Dakar-Rally competition after suffering an accident in the province of San Juan, an official press release informed.
Patronelli, defending champion and flag-bearer of the Argentine delegation, is out of danger, but was forced to leave the race.
The Yamaha driver saved his life when he jumped off his quad, which fell 600 metres down a cliff.
Patronelli won the Dakar in 2010 and 2013, while his brother Alejandro, also a quad driver, won the 2012 edition.
