'Blue' dollar hits new record high, closed at 10.90 pesos
The so called “blue” dollar broke the May 8 last year barrier when it hit 10.45 pesos. Greenbacks in the informal market closed at 10.85 pesos for buyers and 10.90 pesos for sellers, fueled by tourist demand and some exchange speculative purchases. Meanwhile, the official dollar climed half a cent to 6.555 pesos (buying price) and 6.605 pesos (selling price) at Buenos Aires City banks and exchange offices.
