Gov't 'convinced' agreement will be fulfilled
The Domestic Trade Secretary guaranteed the scheme the government has agreed on with supermarkets and retailers represents a “short and long-term flexible policy” regarding price fixing.
“We are convinced (the deal) will be fulfilled with complete normality,” Augusto Costa said during a press conference held today to announce the price agreement will become effective on Monday.
“We seek to offer consumers a basket of reference with clear and transparent prices. And us will monitor all value chain prices through this basket,” the official assured.
